Description: Microbiological laboratories need a simple procedure to maintain important microorganisms rather than repetitive sub-culturing, which results in contaminated cultures, loss of viability and, even more importantly, loss of original characteristics by introducing biochemical and genetic changes. Cryoinstant consists of 25 porous beads in a vial filled with a broth containing glycerol. Microorganisms will bind to the porous surface of the beads. The excess broth is aspirated, and the vials stored at temperatures down to –70 °C in a freezer.

Description: ATG3 Antibody: Autophagy, the process of bulk degradation of cellular proteins through an autophagosomic-lysosomal pathway is important for normal growth control and may be defective in tumor cells. It is involved in the preservation of cellular nutrients under starvation conditions as well as the normal turnover of cytosolic components. This process is negatively regulated by TOR (Target of rapamycin) through phosphorylation of autophagy protein APG1. ATG3 (APG3) is a widely expressed conjugating enzyme for APG8 lipidation, an essential step for the initiation of autophagy. It functions as an E2-like enzyme during the initial stages of autophagosome formation by catalyzing the formation of the Atg8-phosphatidylethanolamine (Atg8-PE) conjugate, which is critical for autophagy.

Description: LAMP-2 Antibody: Autophagy, the process of bulk degradation of cellular proteins through an autophagosomic-lysosomal pathway is important for normal growth control and may be defective in tumor cells. It is involved in the preservation of cellular nutrients under starvation conditions as well as the normal turnover of cytosolic components and is negatively regulated by TOR (Target of rapamycin). LAMP-2, a highly glycosylated protein associated with the lysosome, has recently been shown to be important in autophagy as mice deficient in this protein failed to convert autophagic vacuoles into vacuoles leading to impaired degradation of long-lived proteins. This correlates with the finding that human LAMP-2 deficiency causing Danon's disease is associated with the accumulation of autophagic material in striated myocytes. LAMP-2 exists in multiple isoforms.

Description: ATG16 Antibody: Autophagy, the process of bulk degradation of cellular proteins through an autophagosomic-lysosomal pathway is important for normal growth control and may be defective in tumor cells. It is involved in the preservation of cellular nutrients under starvation conditions as well as the normal turnover of cytosolic components. This process is negatively regulated by TOR (Target of rapamycin) through phosphorylation of autophagy protein APG1. ATG16, another member of the autophagy protein family, forms a complex with the ATG5-ATG12 conjugate. This multimeric protein has been shown to be essential for autophagosome formation in both yeast and mammals and targets the ATG5-ATG12 complex to the autophagic isolation membrane during the formation of the autophagosome. Because mammalian ATG16 has seven WD-repeats in its C-terminal domain, it has been suggested that these may form a platform for further protein-protein interactions. Multiple isoforms of ATG16 are known to exist.

Description: Ambra1 Antibody: Autophagy, the process of bulk degradation of cellular proteins through an autophagosomic-lysosomal pathway is important for normal growth control and may be defective in tumor cells. It is involved in the preservation of cellular nutrients under starvation conditions as well as the normal turnover of cytosolic components. Beclin-1, a principal regulator of autophagosome formation, is in turn regulated by Ambra1. Ambra1 associates with Beclin-1 through a region near its center as determined by yeast two-hybrid assay. Null mutations in this gene in mice resulted in embryonic lethality with severe neural tube defects associated with autophagy impairment, accumulation of ubiquitinated proteins, unbalanced cell proliferation and excessive apoptotic death. Furthermore, down-regulation of Ambra1 in cultured cells though RNA interference decreased the level of rapamycin- and nutrient starvation-induced autophagy. Multiple isoforms of Ambra1 are known to exist.

Description: The IgG fraction is prepared from the specific rabbit antiserum by delipidation, ammonium sulfate fractionation and anion exchange chromatography. The resulting IgG fraction is dialyzed into 0.02M sodium phosphate, 0.14M sodium chloride, pH 7.3, adjusted to standard titer, filtered through a 0.22 µm filter, vialed and lyophilized. No preservative is added.

The total protein is measured using the Biuret procedure, with bovine albumin as a standard. Hemagglutination titer is standardized with an in-house control by measurement of agglutination end-point with 10% human red blood cells. Each IgG fraction is tested for purity at a minimum of 40 mg/ml using immunoelectrophoresis. The product is mostly rabbit IgG; no trace of albumin is detected.
