Catalog Number: (BOSSBS-13493R-HRP)
Supplier: Bioss
Description: Involved in transport from the ER to the Golgi apparatus as well as in intra-Golgi transport. It belongs to a super-family of proteins called t-SNAREs or soluble NSF (N-ethylmaleimide-sensitive factor) attachment protein receptor. May play a protective role against hydrogen peroxide induced cytotoxicity under glutathione depleted conditions in neuronal cells by regulating the intracellular ROS levels via inhibition of p38 MAPK (MAPK11, MAPK12, MAPK13 and MAPK14). Participates in docking and fusion stage of ER to cis-Golgi transport. Plays an important physiological role in VLDL-transport vesicle-Golgi fusion and thus in VLDL delivery to the hepatic cis-Golgi.

Description: ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporters are an evolutionarily conserved family of widely-expressed proteins that use ATP hydrolysis to catalyze the transport of various molecules across extracellular and intracellular membranes. As the largest family of transmembrane proteins, ABC genes comprise several subfamilies. Eukaryotic ABC transporters are largely responsible for trafficking hydrophobic compounds either within the cell, as part of a metabolic process, or outside the cell, for transport to other organs or for secretion from the body. ABCF2 in particular plays a putative role in tumor suppression at metastatic sites and in the endocrine pathway for breast cancer and may be a prognostic marker for clear cell ovarian adenocarcinoma.

Catalog Number: (BOSSBS-13077R-CY5)
Supplier: Bioss
Description: Equilibrative nucleoside transporters (ENTs) regulate many physiological processes and are widely distributed in mammals, plants, yeasts, insects, nematodes and protozoans. They enable facilitated diffusion of hydrophilic nucleosides, such as adenosine and nucleoside analogs, across cell membranes. ENTs are required for uptake of antiviral and anticancer nucleoside drugs and influence a variety of physiological processes, such as neurotransmission and platelet aggregation, by regulating the amount of adenoside available to cell surface receptors. Equilibrative nucleoside transporter 1 (ENT1), also designated solute carrier family 29 (nucleoside transporters), member 1, belongs to the SLC29A transporter family and is a mammalian ENT isoform. ENT1, along with ENT3, mediates the majority of influx and efflux of nucleosides across the plasma membrane.

Description: ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporters are an evolutionarily conserved family of widely-expressed proteins that use ATP hydrolysis to catalyze the transport of various molecules across extracellular and intracellular membranes. Eukaryotic ABC transporters are largely responsible for trafficking hydrophobic compounds either within the cell as part of a metabolic process, outside the cell for transport to other organs, or for secretion from the body. The cholesterol-responsive transporter, ABCA7, maps to human chromosome 19 and mouse chromosome 10 and has been reported as a candidate regulator of ceramide transport in epidermal lipid reorganization. High expression levels of ABCA7 have been reported in myelolymphatic tissues, reticuloendothelial cells, peripheral leukocytes, thymus, spleen and bone marrow. This expression pattern of the two alternatively-spliced isoforms also indicates an involvement in lipid homeostasis in cells of the immune system, though the complete role of ABCA7 is not yet known. Full-length type I ABCA7 has shown plasma membrane localization, while the type II splicing variant has shown expression predominantly in the endoplasmic reticulum.

Description: The kinesin superfamily of proteins (KIFs) consists of a class of microtubule-dependent motors that play a major role in many cellular and developmental functions, including organelle transport, mitosis, meiosis, and possibly long-range signaling in neurons. The kinesin proteins are involved in organelle transport and are primarily associated with anterograde transport of vesicles and organelles in neurons, epithelial cells, and melanosomes with bidirectional transport of mitochondria. They also mediate transport between the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) and the Golgi complex. In neurons, kinesin motors conduct vesicular transport, such as of synaptic vesicle components to axons and of neurotransmitter receptors to dendrites. KIF17 belongs to the functionally diverse subgroup of the kinesin superfamily characterized by a N-terminal motor domain (N-IV class), that includes the KIF3 motor protein. KIF17 is specifically expressed in the brain, present in abundance in the gray matter, particularly in the hippocampus and cerebral cortex, but not in the white matter such as the optic nerve.
