Catalog Number: (BOSSBS-0520R-A750)
Supplier: Bioss
Description: Mediates cAMP-dependent signaling triggered by receptor binding to GPCRs. PKA activation regulates diverse cellular processes such as cell proliferation, the cell cycle, and differentiation and regulation of microtubule dynamics, chromatin condensation and decondensation, nuclear envelope disassembly and reassembly, as well as regulation of intracellular transport mechanisms and ion flux. Regulates the abundance of compartmentalized pools of its regulatory subunits through phosphorylation of PJA2 which binds and ubiquitinates these subunits, leading to their subsequent proteolysis (By similarity).

Description: Receptor for glutamate that functions as ligand-gated ion channel in the central nervous system and plays an important role in excitatory synaptic transmission. L-glutamate acts as an excitatory neurotransmitter at many synapses in the central nervous system. Binding of the excitatory neurotransmitter L-glutamate induces a conformation change, leading to the opening of the cation channel, and thereby converts the chemical signal to an electrical impulse. The receptor then desensitizes rapidly and enters a transient inactive state, characterised by the presence of bound agonist. In the presence of CACNG4 or CACNG7 or CACNG8, shows resensitization which is characterised by a delayed accumulation of current flux upon continued application of glutamate.

Description: Catalyzes the release of fatty acids from phospholipids. It has been implicated in normal phospholipid remodeling, nitric oxide-induced or vasopressin-induced arachidonic acid release and in leukotriene and prostaglandin production. May participate in fas mediated apoptosis and in regulating transmembrane ion flux in glucose-stimulated B-cells. Has a role in cardiolipin (CL) deacylation. Required for both speed and directionality of monocyte MCP1/CCL2-induced chemotaxis through regulation of F-actin polymerisation at the pseudopods. Isoform ankyrin-iPLA2-1 and isoform ankyrin-iPLA2-2, which lack the catalytic domain, are probably involved in the negative regulation of iPLA2 activity.

Description: Receptor for Wnt proteins. Most of frizzled receptors are coupled to the beta-catenin canonical signaling pathway, which leads to the activation of disheveled proteins, inhibition of GSK-3 kinase, nuclear accumulation of beta-catenin and activation of Wnt target genes. A second signaling pathway involving PKC and calcium fluxes has been seen for some family members, but it is not yet clear if it represents a distinct pathway or if it can be integrated in the canonical pathway, as PKC seems to be required for Wnt-mediated inactivation of GSK-3 kinase. Both pathways seem to involve interactions with G-proteins. May be involved in transduction and intercellular transmission of polarity information during tissue morphogenesis and/or in differentiated tissues.

Description: SCGN is a 276 amino acid cytoplasmic protein that contains six EF-hand domains and is related to the calicium-binding proteins Calretinin and Calbindin D28K. Expressed in a variety of tissues including stomach, thyroid, colon, brain and neuroendocrine cells, SCGN is thought to be involved in cell proliferation and KCl (potassium chloride)-mediated calcium flux events. Through its interaction with KCl and its subsequent ability to modulate calcium storage pools within the cell, SCGN may function to negatively control growth and differentiation rates and, thus, indirectly inhibit cell replication.

Description: The annexin family of calcium-binding proteins is composed of at least ten mammalian genes. It is characterized by a conserved core domain, which binds to phospholipids in a Ca2+-dependent manner, and a unique amino terminal region, which may confer binding specificity. The annexin family has been implicated as regulators of such diverse processes as ion-flux, endocytosis and exocytosis, and cellular adhesion. Two forms of Annexin XI, designated A and B, have been identified. Transfection of COS-7 cells with Annexin XI-A, but not Annexin XI-B, causes formation of Annexin XI-associated vesicles.

Description: CHOP is a small nuclear protein that is capable of dimerizing with transcription factors C/EBP α and β. Once dimerized, this complex inhibits the normal binding and function of C/EBP to classical binding sites. Inversely, the C/EBP-CHOP dimer gains binding activity to other non-classical C/EBP stress related targets.
Under normal cellular conditions this protein is not expressed in detectable levels, but is highly unregulated during times of cellular/ER stress. Examples of CHOP inducing stress include: treatment with tunicamycin, nutrient starvation and reducing agents that interfere with the calcium flux across the ER membrane.

Description: PYK2 is involved in calcium induced regulation of ion channel and activation of the map kinase signaling pathway. PKY2 may represent an important signaling intermediate between neuropeptide activated receptors or neurotransmitters that increase calcium flux and the downstream signals that regulate neuronal activity. Interacts with the SH2 domain of Grb2. May phosphorylate the voltage gated potassium channel protein Kv1.2. PYK2 activation is highly correlated with the stimulation of c-Jun N-terminal kinase activity.
