Description: Regular Paraplast with approx. 0,8% DMSO added for enhanced ease of infiltration and sectioning. Paraffin polyisobutylene mixture is a tissue embedding medium composed of highly purified paraffin and polyisobutylene and a low level of dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) to enhance the rate of tissue penetration. Paraffin-polyisobutylene (76258) supports thin wrinkle-free sectioning down to 4 µm with more flexible and continuous ribbons.

Supplier: VWR Collection

Description: For use with Osteo-bed bone embedding kit. Solvent for removal of plastic from sections prior to rehydration and staining. Most histochemical and immunohistochemistry staining protocols require the removal of methyl methacrylate (MMA) and rehydration of mounted sections for improved stain penetration and greater contrast.
Catalog Number: O8639-4X500ML
UOM: 1 * 2.000 mL
Supplier: SIGMA ALDRICH MICROSCOPY

Description: When sectioning frozen tissue for rapid surgical biopsy diagnosis or for research (typically in Histochemistry), the tissue sample must be firmly attached to the microtome stage or chuck. Embedding material such as OCT are preferred as these also provide a supportive and protective aid to sectioning.

Description: Kaiser's glycerol gelatin is an aqueous mounting medium for microscopy and works well with specimens prepared for enzyme, lipid, and immunohistochemistry determinations.
Catalog Number: 1.08635.0100
UOM: 1 * 100 g
Supplier: Merck

Description: CC/mount is an aqueous based permanent mounting medium with a very high refractive index, which when applied to the stained tissue sections can store the tissue specimens permanently without the fading of the chromogens. Because of the superior refractive index of CC/mount, tissues mounted in this medium look like specimens mounted with organic based mounting media. No coverslipping is required with CC/mount. However, if coverslipping is required, dried CC/mount can be post mounted by using an organic based mounting medium. CC/mount permits the long-term storage of antigens localised using organic insoluble chromogen substrates, including AEC, DAB, Fast Red, BCIP/NBT, BCIP/INT and fluorescent dyes like FITC and phycobiliproteins. The high pH of CC/mount ensures increased stability of fluorescence intensity.

Description: Zinc formalin fixative is a non-precipitating fixative. This fixative is compatible with histochemical, immunochemical and special stains. It may be used with automated tissue processors and also in manual methods. The zinc chloride component of the formulation increases the rigidity of cellular components to withstand subsequent processing, sectioning and staining procedures. Tissue specimens initially fixed using 10% neutral buffered formalin solution may be post-fixed using the zinc formalin fixative.

Description: Patent blue V sodium salt has been used as a stain in pharmacology. It is mainly used as a food color.
Catalog Number: 21605-10G
UOM: 1 * 10 g
Supplier: SIGMA ALDRICH MICROSCOPY

Description: The Brilliant cresyl blue solution is used in hematology as reagent for the staining of blood for the subsequent manual counting of blood cells. The regenerative capacity of erythrocytes can be monitored with the ratio of reticulocytes. In addition, the determination of the Substantia granulo-filamentosa (ribonucleoproteins) is possible with fresh, unfixed young erythrocytes (in a supra-vitral staining).
Catalog Number: MERC1.01384.9025
UOM: 1 * 25 L
Supplier: Merck

Description: Fixative, combining the coagulant qualities of alcohol, to enable a better fixation of nuclear and cytoplasmic elements. The erythrocytes are lysed and, therefore, do not obscure observation of the elements of interest. This fixative can be used according to the Saccomanno method.
