Description: The LIM-only (LMO) proteins, LMO1 and LMO2, are nuclear factors that are characterized by a conserved LIM domain (1). The LIM domain consists of a cysteine-rich zinc-binding motif that is present in a variety of transcription factors, including the LIM homeobox (LHX) proteins expressed in the central nervous system and involved in cell differentiation (2). LMO1 and LMO2 are expressed in the adult CNS in a cell type-specific manner, where they are differentially regulated by neuronal activity and are involved in regulating the cellular differentiated phenotype of neurons (3). LMO2 lacks a specific DNA-binding homeobox domain but rather assembles into transcriptional regulatory complexes to mediate gene expression by interacting with the widely expressed nuclear LIM interactor (NLI) (4). NLI, known also as CLIM-1, and the related protein CLIM-2 facilitate the formation of heteromeric LIM complexes and also enhance the nuclear retention of LIM proteins (5). LMO2 and the related protein LMO4 are expressed in thymic precursor cells (6). LMO4 is also expressed in mature T cells, cranial neural crest cells, somite, dorsal limb bud mesenchyme, motor neurons, and Schwann cell progenitors (7).

Description: Tau proteins are important Promotes microtubule assembly and stability, and might be involved in the establishment and maintenance of neuronal polarity. The C-terminus binds axonal microtubules while the N-terminus binds neural plasma membrane components, suggesting that tau functions as a linker protein between both. Axonal polarity is predetermined by tau localisation (in the neuronal cell) in the domain of the cell body defined by the centrosome. The short isoforms allow plasticity of the cytoskeleton whereas the longer isoforms may preferentially play a role in its stabilisation. Tau proteins subcellular located in the axons of neurons, in the cytoso l and in association with plasma membrane components. It expressed in neurons. PNS-tau is expressed in the peripheral nervous system while the others are expressed in the central nervous system.

Description: This antibody recognizes a protein of 25-26 kDa, identified as the bcl-2 α oncoprotein. It shows no cross-reaction with Bcl-x or Bax protein. Expression of bcl-2 α oncoprotein inhibits the programmed cell death (apoptosis). In most follicular lymphomas, neoplastic germinal centers express high levels of bcl-2 α protein, whereas the normal or hyperplastic germinal centers are negative. Consequently, this antibody is valuable when distinguishing between reactive and neoplastic follicular proliferation in lymph node biopsies. It may also be used in distinguishing between those follicular lymphomas that express bcl-2 protein and the small number in which the neoplastic cells are bcl-2 negative.

Description: The melanocortin family comprises the Alpha-, Beta- and Gamma- melanocyte stimulating hormones (MSH) and adrenocorticotrophin. The receptors for these hormones are seven-transmembrane G protein-coupled proteins that activate adenylyl cyclase. Five melanocortin receptors have been cloned and shown to exhibit different affinities and patterns of expression. MC1-R (MSH-R) is expressed in melanocytes and corticoadrenal tissue. MC2-R is the ACTH receptor and is expressed primarily in the adrenal cortex. MC3-R has been found in specific regions of the brain and is also expressed in placenta and gut. MC4-R is expressed primarily in brain, while MC5-R is expressed at low levels in most tissues.

Description: MAWDBP (MAWD binding protein), also known as PBLD (phenazine biosynthesis-like protein domain containing) or MAWBP, is a 288 amino acid protein that belongs to the phenazine biosynthesis-like protein (PhzF) family. It has been suggested that MAWDBP is the only representative of the PhzF family in the human genome. Expressed in most tissues, MAWDBP is a WD-40 repeat-containing β-propeller protein believed to participate in the MAPK signaling pathway. Involved in multiple basic cellular functions, expression of MAWDBP is elevated in several disease processes, including insulin resistance, folate deficiency and hypotension. It is thought that MAWDBP may also be involved in carcinogenesis.

Description: Adducins are a family of cytoskeleton proteins encoded by three genes (alpha, beta and gamma). Adducin is a protein associated with the inner leaflet of the plasma membrane and is one of the proteins localized at the spectrin-Actin junction of the membrane skeleton. The cortical Actin cytoskeletal network is lost during apoptosis and Adducins are central in the cortical Actin network organization. Adducin alpha is a cytoskeletal protein involved with sodium-pump activity in the renal tubule and is associated with hypertension. The expression of Adducin alpha and Adducin gamma is ubiquitous in contrast to the restricted expression of Adducin beta . Adducin beta is expressed at high levels in brain and hematopoietic tissues, such as bone marrow in humans and spleen in mice.
