Catalog Number: (BNUM0502-50)
Supplier: Biotium
Description: Reacts with a protein of 57 kDa, identified as the L1 protein of human papilloma virus type 16 (HPV-16). It is the major capsid protein of HPV-16. Infection with specific types of HPV has been associated with an increased risk of developing cervical neoplasia. HPV types 6 and 11 have been associated with relatively benign diseases such as genital warts but types 16 and 18 are strongly associated with cervical, vaginal, and vulvar malignancies. The antibody reacts very strongly with formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissues containing HPV-16 or -33; very weak reactions were occasionally observed with biopsy specimens or smears containing HPV-6 or HPV-11. It cross-reacts with HPV37.

Description: This antibody recognizes a protein of ~90 kDa, which is identified as Adenosine Monophosphate Deaminase, isoform E (AMPD3). It has 767 amino acids and is assigned an EC 3.5.4.6. It is a highly regulated enzyme that catalyzes the hydrolytic deamination of adenosine monophosphate to inosine monophosphate, a branch point in the adenylate catabolic pathway. AMPD3 gene encodes the erythrocyte (E) isoforms, whereas other family members encode isoforms that predominate in muscle (M) and liver (L) cells. This MAb shows reactivity with cells of the erythroid lineage at all stages of maturation in the peripheral blood, bone marrow, and fetal liver. Non-erythroid lineages are negative by flow cytometry. This MAb is useful in the diagnosis of erythroleukemia, identification of bone marrow erythroid precursors, gating erythroid nucleated precursor cells from malignant cells in bone marrow specimens.

Supplier: Bioss
Description: Vertebrate neuron-specific nuclear protein called NeuN (Neuronal Nuclei) is an excellent marker for neurons in primary cultures and in retinoic acid-stimulated P19 cells. It is also useful for identifying neurons in transplants. NeuN is a neuron-specific, DNA-binding nuclear protein in vertebrates. In mice, NeuN is observed in most neuronal cell types throughout the nervous system, including cerebellum, cerebral cortex, hippocampus, thalamus and spinal cord, as well as the dorsal root ganglia, sympathetic chain ganglia and enteric ganglia of the peripheral nervous system. NeuN immunoreactivity is first observed in neurons when they become post-mitotic and are initiating cellular and morphological differentiation. No staining is observed in proliferative zones. NeuN has been used as an immunohistochemical marker for excitotoxic lesions of the brain as well as in the diagnosis of a wide range of human tissue specimens from the central and peripheral nervous systems.

Description: Enteroviruses, such as enterovirus 71, are classified to be in the picornavirus family, pico [small] + RNA [ribonucleic acid] + virus. Picornaviruses are among the smallest and simplest ribonucleic acid containing viruses known (1). The RNA for many enteroviruses have now been cloned and complete genomic sequences have been obtained. The RNA from all sequenced enteroviruses are similar in length, about 7400 nucleotides, and have identical organization (1). The human alimentary tract is the predominant site of enterovirus replication and these viruses were first isolated from enteric specimens. These viruses are the cause of paralytic poliomyelitis, aseptic meningitis-encephalitis, myocarditis, pleurodynia, hand-foot-and-mouth disease, conjunctivitis, and numerous other syndromes associated with extra-intestinal target organs. There are 67 numbered types of enteroviruses in the enterovirus family (1): three polioviruses, twenty-three coxsackieviruses A, six coxsackieviruses B, thirty-one echoviruses, and four other enteroviruses.
