Catalog Number: (EP0072)
Supplier: Thermo Fisher Scientific
Description: Taq DNA Polymerase is a highly thermostable DNA polymerase from the thermophilic bacterium Thermus aquaticus. The enzyme catalyses 5'→3' synthesis of DNA, has no detectable 3'→5' exonuclease (proofreading) activity and possesses low 5'→3' exonuclease activity. In addition, Taq DNA polymerase exhibits deoxynucleotidyl transferase activity, which frequently results in the addition of extra adenines at the 3'-end of PCR products. Native Taq DNA polymerase is preferred for amplification of bacterial DNA sequences homologous to those found in E.coli. Native Taq DNA polymerase stabilised with BSA is often the best choice when amplifying DNA samples of lower purity, e.g. genomic DNA from mouse tail.

Description: Cyanine 5-dUTP can replace TTP in reactions in which it serves as a substrate for E. coli DNA polymerase (holoenzyme and Klenow fragment), T4 and Taq DNA polymerases, reverse transcriptase (from AMV and M-MuLV) and terminal transferase. Fluorescently labeled probes can be prepared with this fluorescent nucleotide by a variety of methods including nick translation, cDNA labeling and 3’-end labeling. Probes generated by these methods are suitable for use for the identification of specific sequences by in situ hybridization procedures on fixed cells and tissues by direct fluorescence detection. Cyanine 5-dUTP can also be used for multicolor fluorescence labeling.

Supplier: Quantabio
Description: PerfeCTa® qPCR ToughMix® is a 2X concentrated ready to use reaction cocktail for PCR amplification of DNA templates that overcomes many known inhibitors of PCR often present in crude samples extracted from environmental specimens, plant tissues or animal tissues. It is a versatile and robust Real-Time qPCR reagent that provides maximum sensitivity and PCR efficiency with a variety of fluorogenic probe chemistries, including TaqMan® hydrolysis probes. PerfeCTa® qPCR ToughMix® contains all required reaction components, except primers, probe(s) and DNA template. The light blue colour of the AccuVue™ tracer dye simplifies reaction assembly in white, or clear plates and helps to minimise pipetting or mixing errors. It does not interfere with qPCR performance or affect the stability of the product.
Supplier: Quantabio
Description: Ultra-Plex™ 1-Step ToughMix® is a ready-to-use, 4X-concentrated master mix for reverse transcription quantitative PCR (RT-qPCR) of RNA templates using hybridisation probe detection chemistries such as TaqMan® 5’-hydrolysis probes on Real-Time PCR systems that utilise ROX passive reference with 490 nM excitation. First-strand cDNA synthesis and PCR amplification are carried out in the same tube without opening between procedures. It is ideal for highly sensitive quantification of RNA viruses or low abundance RNA targets in uni- or multiplexed RT-qPCR applications as well as high throughput gene-expression studies. The system has been optimised to deliver maximum RT-qPCR efficiency, sensitivity, and specificity in reduced reaction volumes and fast cycle times. Ultra-Plex™ 1-Step ToughMix® contains all required components for RT-qPCR except RNA template and probe. It is compatible with all dual-labeled probe chemistries.
Supplier: G-Biosciences
Description: Concanavalin A (Con A) agarose consists of Con A coupled to 6% agarose by the cyanogen bromide method. Con A is a tetrameric metalloprotein lectin isolated from Canavalia ensiformis (jack bean). It is used for the purification of glycoproteins, polysaccharides and glycolipids as it binds molecules containing α-D-mannopyranosyl, α-D-glucopyranosyl and sterically related residues. It has also be used in other application areas including purification of enzyme-antibody conjugates, purification of IgM and separation of membrane vesicles. As stated above, it is a metalloprotein and to maintain its binding characteristics the presence of both Mn²⁺ and Ca²⁺ is essential. Each subunit of Con A utilises one calcium and one manganese ion and these cations can be removed under acidic conditions abolishing the carbohydrate-binding activity.

Supplier: Thermo Fisher Scientific
Description: Ribonucleic acid (RNA) from baker's yeast S. cerevisiae may be used as a substrate for studying ribonuclease activities of enzymes such as RNAase(s). It is also suitable for use as a carrier in nucleic acid purification and precipitation.
Supplier: Quantabio
Description: This SuperMix is a 2X concentrated, ready to use reaction cocktail for Real-Time qPCR that contains all components, except primers, probes, and templates. The system transcends multiplex limitations of conventional PCR master mixes, enabling unbiased amplification of up to five target sequences in a single tube. Suppression of low copy amplicons by high copy reference targets in the amplification is a common problem in multiplex PCR. This can skew, or mask the apparent representation and quantification of low copy target sequences. PerfeCTa® MultiPlex qPCR SuperMix delivers dynamic range and sensitivity to multiplexed qPCR that is comparable to that for singleplex qPCR probe assays without the need for limiting or variable primer concentrations.
Supplier: VWR Chemicals
Description: Packaged at pH 6.6, this mixture is provided with a supplemental alkaline buffer that allows the researcher to easily increase the pH to 7.9 for DNA purification. When mixed with Chloroform:Isoamyl Alcohol (24:1), it makes an optimised reagent for DNA purification. Doubly distilled, high purity phenol packaged under nitrogen. Safer, easier alternative to crystalline phenol.
Supplier: Thermo Fisher Scientific
Description: DreamTaq™ Green DNA Polymerase is a combination of DreamTaq™ DNA Polymerase and 10X DreamTaq™ Green Buffer. DreamTaq™ DNA Polymerase is an enhanced Taq DNA polymerase optimised for high throughput PCR applications. It ensures higher sensitivity, longer PCR products and higher yields compared to conventional Taq DNA polymerase.
DreamTaq™ Green DNA Polymerase incorporates modified nucleotides, but is inhibited by dUTP. The 10X DreamTaq™ Green Buffer includes a density reagent and two tracking dyes for direct loading of PCR products on a gel. The coloured buffer does not interfere with PCR performance and is compatible with downstream applications such as DNA sequencing,
phosphorylation, ligation and restriction digestion. For applications that require PCR product analysis by absorbance or fluorescence excitation, it is recommended either to use colourless 10X DreamTaq™ Buffer or purify the PCR product prior to analysis.
