Catalog Number: (BOSSBS-12048R-CY5)
Supplier: Bioss
Description: The members of the G-protein-coupled receptor family are distinguished by their slow transmitting response to ligand binding. These seven transmembrane proteins include the adrenergic, serotonin and dopamine receptors. The effect of the signaling molecule can be excitatory or inhibitory depending on the type of receptor to which it binds. b-adrenergic bound to adrenaline activates adenylyl cyclase, while a2-adrenergic receptor bound to adrenaline inhibits adenylyl cyclase. Like the a2-adrenergic receptor, serotonin receptor functions are also mediated by G proteins that inhibit the activity of adenylyl cyclase. The serotonin receptors have been classified into several categories, designated SR-1–7 (5HT1–7). Subtypes within the SR-1 group include SR-1A, -1B, -1D, -1E and -1F.

Description: Tyrosine hydroxylase is an excellent marker for dopaminergic and noradrenergic neurons. Tyrosine hydroxylase (a.k.a. tyrosine 3-monooxygenase) is the enzyme responsible for catalyzing the conversion of the amino acid L-tyrosine to L-3,4-dihydroxyphenylalanine (L-DOPA). L-DOPA is a precursor for dopamine, which, in turn, is a precursor for the important neurotransmitters norepinephrine (noradrenaline) and epinephrine (adrenaline). Tyrosine hydroxylase catalyzes the rate limiting step in this synthesis of catecholamines. In humans, tyrosine hydroxylase is encoded by the TH gene, and the enzyme is present in the central nervous system (CNS), peripheral symphatic neurons and the adrenal medulla. The enzymatic activity of TH requires ferrous ions as cofactors and is believed to be regulated by phosphorylation. At least four isoforms of human TH have been identified which result from alternative splicing. Tyrosine hydroxylase, phenylalanine hydroxylase and tryptophan hydroxylase together make up the family of aromatic amino acid hydroxylases (AAAHs). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tyrosine_hydroxylase

Catalog Number: (PRSI91-094)
Supplier: ProSci Inc.
Description: Carbonic Anhydrase 7 (CA7) is a member of the alpha-carbonic anhydrase family. Alpha-carbonic anhydrase is a large family of zinc metalloenzymes that catalyze the reversible hydration of carbon dioxide. Furthermore, Alpha-carbonic anhydrase is associated with many biological processes, including calcification, respiration, bone resorption, acid-base balance and the formation of aqueous humor. CA7 is activated by histamine, L-adrenaline, L- and D-histidine, and L- and D-phenylalanine, but it is inhibited coumarins, sulfonamide derivatives such as acetazolamide (AZA) by saccharin and Foscarnet.

Description: Carbonic Anhydrase 1 (CA1) is a cytosolic enzyme, belonging to the alpha-carbonic anhydrase family. It is highly expressed in erythrocytes and acts as an early marker for erythroid differentiation. Carbonic anhydrase 1 plays a improtant role in many biological processes such as calcification, cellular respiration, bone resorption, acid-base balance. It is activated by imidazole, histamine, L-adrenaline, L- and D-histidine, and L- and D-phenylalanine. At the same time, It is inhibited by sulfonamide derivatives and coumarins. In addition, CA1 is a zinc metalloenzyme that has reversible hydration of carbon dioxide. It can hydrate cyanamide to urea.
