Description: Folin & Ciocalteu's phenol reagent is most commonly used in the Lowry method for determining protein concentration. It has also been used for the quantification of total phenolics. In this method, protein is pretreated with copper(II) in a modified biuret reagent (alkaline copper solution
stabilized with sodium potassium tartrate). Addition of the phenol reagent generates chromogens that give increasing absorbance between 550-750nm. Normally, absorbance at the peak (750 nm) or shoulder (660 nm) are used to quantitate protein concentrations between 1 - 100 mg/ml while absorbance at 550 nm is used to quantitate higher protein concentrations.

The total protein is measured using the Biuret procedure, with bovine albumin as a standard. Antibody titer is standardized to an in-house standard by equivalence-point precipitation. Each IgG fraction is tested for purity and specificity at a minimum of 40 mg/mL using immunoelectrophoresis. The product is mostly goat IgG; no trace of albumin is detected.

This product is suitable for use as a primary reagent in enzyme immunoassays, fluorescein immunoassays and blot, cell or tissue immunostaining. Note: F(ab')2 fragments are recommended for staining of cells or tissues which contain Fc receptors. The product has been successfully used in Immunoblotting. It detects C3 from human, equine, hamster, Guinea pig, murine, rabbit, rat, pig, and non-human primate samples. It does not cross react wtih bovine, canine, chicken, feline and sheep samples. Description: The antiserum is prepared by hyperimmunizing goats with human serum. The resulting antiserum is delipidated and dialyzed into 0.02M sodium phosphate, 0.14M sodium chloride, pH 7.3, with 0.05% sodium azide, adjusted to standard titer, filtered through a 0.22 µm filter, vialed and lyophilized.

Reconstitute product with 2.0 ml of deionized or distilled water. Gentle swirling may be used to speed rehydration. Avoid vigorous shaking of the reconstituted material.

Store lyophilized product at 2-8°C. Store reconstituted material no longer than 4 weeks at 2-8°C. For long-term storage, aliquot
and freeze reconstituted product at -20°C or lower.
