Supplier: SIGMA-ALDRICH MICROSCOPY
Description: Folin & Ciocalteu's phenol reagent is most commonly used in the Lowry method for determining protein concentration. It has also been used for the quantification of total phenolics. In this method, protein is pretreated with copper(II) in a modified biuret reagent (alkaline copper solution
stabilized with sodium potassium tartrate). Addition of the phenol reagent generates chromogens that give increasing absorbance between 550-750nm. Normally, absorbance at the peak (750 nm) or shoulder (660 nm) are used to quantitate protein concentrations between 1 - 100 mg/ml while absorbance at 550 nm is used to quantitate higher protein concentrations.

Catalog Number: (ICNA0855998)
Supplier: MP Biomedicals
Description: Product is the lyophilized powder of goat antiserum to bovine serum and buffer salts.

The total protein is measured using the Biuret procedure, with bovine albumin as the standard.
UOM: 1 * 2 mL

Catalog Number: (ICNA0855951)
Supplier: MP Biomedicals
Description: Product is the lyophilized powder of rat IgG and buffer salts.IgG antibody subtype is the most abundant serum immunoglobulins of the immune system. It is secreted by B cells and is found in blood and extracellular fluids and provides protection from infections caused by bacteria, fungi and viruses. Maternal IgG is transferred to fetus through the placenta that is vital for immune defence of the neonate against infections. The total protein is determined using the Biuret procedure, with bovine albumin as the standard. Each vial is overfilled by approximately 10 percent so that a minimum of 20 mg of rat IgG is obtained upon reconstitution.
UOM: 1 * 20 mg

Supplier: G-Biosciences
Description: Determination of protein concentration is an essential technique in all aspects of protein studies and proteomics. The Assays for Protein Quantification kit includes three of the most widely used protein assays and allows for a direct comparison of the three assays that teaches students the benefits and limitations of each assay. Each assay is available individually to allow teaching of a specific assay, without the option of comparing and contrasting with other assays. The three assays covered are the Biuret Protein Assay, Lowry Protein Assay and the Coomassie Blue Dye Protein Assay. The Assays for Protein Quantification kit provides all the reagents required to perform both protein assays, including protein standards for accurate quantification, in a single lab activity. An often underestimated factor in quantifying protein is the presence of non-protein interfering agents, such as salts and detergents. This kit teaches students about common laboratory agents that affect the protein assays, the reasoning behind their interferences and how to overcome the interference. Students also learn how to select a protein assay for different applications.

Catalog Number: (ICNA0855916)
Supplier: MP Biomedicals
Description: Product is human IgM and buffer salts. The product is tested for purity at a minimum of 20 mg/mL using immunoelectrophoresis. The product is human IgM; no trace of IgG, IgA or non-immunoglobulin serum proteins is detected. The total protein is determined using the Biuret procedure, with bovine albumin as the standard. Each vial is overfilled by approximately 10 percent so that a minimum of 5 mg of human IgM is recovered.
UOM: 1 * 5 mg

Catalog Number: (ICNA0855042)
Supplier: MP Biomedicals
Description: The IgG fraction is prepared from the specific rabbit antiserum by delipidation, ammonium sulfate fractionation and anion exchange chromatography. The resulting IgG fraction is dialyzed into 0.02M sodium phosphate, 0.14M sodium chloride, pH 7.3, adjusted to standard titer, filtered through a 0.22 µm filter, vialed and lyophilized. No preservative is added.

The total protein is measured using the Biuret procedure, with bovine albumin as a standard. Hemagglutination titer is standardized with an in-house control by measurement of agglutination end-point with 10% human red blood cells. Each IgG fraction is tested for purity at a minimum of 40 mg/ml using immunoelectrophoresis. The product is mostly rabbit IgG; no trace of albumin is detected.
UOM: 1 * 5 mL

Catalog Number: (ICNA0855391)
Supplier: MP Biomedicals
Description: Product is the lyophilized powder of horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated goat IgG fraction to guinea pig IgG (whole molecule) and buffer salts. The total protein is measured using the Biuret procedure with bovine albumin as the standard. To ensure that the product titer falls within the required range, antibody titer is standardized by microtiter plate ELISA with guinea pig IgG. The product is tested for purity and specificity at final concentration by immunoelectrophoresis. The antibody is predominantly goat IgG; no trace of albumin is detected.
UOM: 1 * 2 mL

Catalog Number: (ICNA0855984)
Supplier: MP Biomedicals
Description: Whole Sera are non-immune serum samples from goat, human, mouse, rabbit and other species that contain the usual complement of serum proteins, including the various classes of immunoglobulins that exist in healthy animals of the particular species. Whole serum provides a sufficient quantity of endogenous proteins to saturate and block nonspecific binding sites on fixed samples or assay substrates. When used as an antibody diluent, non-immune serum also supplies a native chemical environment for antibodies to function properly without adding foreign protein components. The total protein is measured using the Biuret procedure, with bovine albumin as the standard. The product gives a spectrum of normal serum precipitin arcs when tested by immunoelectrophoresis with anti-goat serum.
UOM: 1 * 2 mL

Catalog Number: (ICNA0855167)
Supplier: MP Biomedicals
Description: The product is the lyophilized powder of fluorescein-5-isothiocyanate (FITC "Isomer I")-conjugated goat IgG fraction to human complement C3 and buffer salts. The total protein is measured using the Biuret procedure with bovine albumin as the standard; F/P ratio is calculated using absorbance at 491.5nm. Antibody titer of the IgG fraction is standardized by equivalence-point precipitation. The IgG fraction is tested for purity and specificity at 40 mg/mL using immunoelectrophoresis. The product is mostly goat IgG; no trace of albumin is detected.
UOM: 1 * 2 mL

Catalog Number: (ICNA0855317)
Supplier: MP Biomedicals
Description: Product is the lyophilized powder of goat antiserum to dog serum and buffer salts

The total protein is measured using the Biuret procedure, with bovine albumin as a standard. Antibody titer is standardized with an in-house control by immunoelectrophoresis. Each antiserum is tested for specificity at a minimum of 80 mg/ml using immunoelectrophoresis. It shows reactivity to dog serum; cross-reactivity to other species may exist.

Applications: Immunostaining of cell suspensions, acetone-fixed frozen tissue sections, and formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue sections.

Warning and Caution:This product contains sodium azide. To prevent formation of toxic vapors, do not mix with strongly acidic solutions. To prevent formation of potentially explosive metallic azides in metal plumbing, always wash into drain with copious quantities of water
UOM: 1 * 2 mL
