Bromocresol purple

Bromocresol purple (BCP) is an organic dye and a pH indicator. It changes from yellow (pH 5.2) to purple (6.8). BCP reacts with ammonia to yield ammonium salt. Hence, it can be used as an ammonia sensing probe.
