Fast Garnet GBC sulfate salt has been used for the staining of aspartate aminotransferase activity. It has been used for measuring of the non-specific esterase activity.
Fast Garnet GBC is a diazonium dye and is mainly required in azo-dye methods. In alkaline phosphatase staining, it reacts with α-naphthol to give a red insoluble azo dye at the site of enzyme activity.
