Silyl-991 is recommended for silylation of fatty acid amides, hindered hydroxyls and other compounds which are difficult to silylate (e.g., secondary alcoholes and amines).
- Silylation can be applied on many compounds
- Silylation reagents are easily prepared
- In Silyl-991 mixture the strong TMS donor BSTFA is catalysed with 1% TMCS
Silyl-991 silylating reagent is a mixture of BSTFA + TMCS (99:1) without pyridene.
