Pierce™ Sulfo-NHS (N-hydroxysulfosuccinimide) is a chemical modification reagent for converting carboxyl groups to amine-reactive NHS esters for bioconjugation, crosslinking, labeling and immobilisation methods.
- Improve efficiency of EDC coupling reactions
- Water-soluble and membrane-impermable
- Activate nanoparticles with amine-reactive Sulpho-NHS esters
- Crosslink proteins to carboxyl-coated beads or surfaces more efficiently
Derivatives of Sulpho-NHS are easily synthesised by mixing the Sulpho-NHS with a carboxyl-containing molecule and a dehydrating agent. The method is the basis for generating many types of protein labeling reagents, including amine-reactive fluorescent dyes, biotin affinity tags and pegylation compounds.
