Fluorescein diacetate
Fluorescein diacetate (FDA) is a non-fluorescent molecule, which is hydrolysed to fluorescent fluorescein in live cells. Dead cells cannot accumulate or hydrolyse FDA. Fluorescein diacetate has been used for the differentiation of live cells from dead cells.
